The ‘Zoo’ Is Here: How The World Is Changing Through New Culture Arts
When it comes to our shared love of animals, we are in a constant state of cultural evolution.
This week, we look at how animals and culture are changing and re-imagining our world through art, music, films, and literature.

The new “Zoo” by David Lacey, for example, is an intimate and emotional film that follows the journey of an endangered animal named the Tasmanian tiger.
Lacey has been working in the art world since 1993 and has been a director and artist for over 30 years.
His films have been seen around the world, including in the UK, France, Germany, and the United States.
But his newest project, called “The Tasmanian Tiger,” has been released for the first time in the United Kingdom.
“The Tasmanians are such iconic animals that I wanted to create a film that would tell a unique story,” he said.
In the film, Lacey shows the tiger with its teeth, claws, and tail, and takes us through its life in captivity.
“We have to understand the animals, and I wanted people to understand what animals are, and how they’re treated, because I really wanted to explore that.
We have all this amazing knowledge of animal behaviour and genetics, and when we’re doing research about these animals we don’t understand all the nuances of that behaviour, so I wanted that to be part of the story.”
Lacey said he was inspired by a scene from the movie “Dirty Dancing,” where a man gets a job in a spa.
He wanted to tell the story of an animal and how it relates to human life and the world around us.
Lacey believes animals have always been “the backbone of the world” and the foundation of culture.
And he hopes that his new film, which he said will be released for free, will give people the opportunity to learn more about the world’s animals.
“I think people will be fascinated and excited to see it, so hopefully they’ll want to come see it and help support the cause,” he told the BBC.
“It’ll hopefully show people that there are many other animals out there and there’s an interest in supporting these animals that’s going on around the globe.”
