Netflix’s new movie catalog gets a new name: ‘Cross Cultural Communication’
The Verge has posted a new article about Netflix’s upcoming cultural content library.
The catalog will have a new title: “Cross Cultural Communications.”
The article explains that this title will be a title of sorts for the company’s existing library, which has a collection of movies, TV shows, and documentaries that are cross-cultural in nature.
These movies and TV shows will be accessible to anyone across all three major streaming platforms: Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV.
In addition to the new title, Netflix will be launching an app to offer an interactive catalog of cultural content.
The app will allow viewers to watch any video on Netflix from a variety of cultures.
Users can also use this app to discover content across all of Netflix’s catalog.
In a press release, Netflix explained the goal of this new title and what it means to its existing catalog.
“The aim of the title is to create a place for our cultural audiences to discover and share new cultural content across Netflix, in order to share the same love of cinema and storytelling across multiple platforms,” Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said.
“As part of the new catalog, we’re excited to share with our community our favorite movies and the best of our current library.
It’s a great way to explore what’s coming in 2018 and beyond.”
Netflix’s new catalog will not include a full Netflix library.
However, Netflix is not stopping there.
Netflix will add the titles that are most popular across the world.
These titles will then be added to the company-wide library of cultural films and TV programs.
